Open Source Cancer Research - Developed by Viratech, Corp (Symbol:VIRA)

It sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? Conventional wisdom states that if you have a great idea that will make tons of money, you need to hide it away and lock it up until you have your patent in hand. Then, and only then, can you carefully and judiciously start to talk about it, promote it, work it and hopefully along the way, acquire funding to make it a reality. That process, from inception to patent filing to realization, can take years.

In the meantime, what do you do with that great idea? Nothing. And doing nothing is nerve-racking. It is even more perplexing when your great idea is not just going to make you a lot of money, but could save lives.

In answer to that dilemma, Viratech Corporation (Symbol:VIRA) has created the first open source biotech research social network platform.  The purpose of the platform is to make it possible for individuals or smaller companies to compete with larger companies in the race to patent new medicines or technology. This has been made possible by leveraging social collaboration in a way that allows new biotech ventures the ability to protect their intellectual property.  The most exciting part of this is that the property is protected while simultaneously allowing those same ventures the ability to promote and crowdsource their development into production.

Dr. Kevin Buckman and Chris Ryan of Viratech Corp. spent more than three years developing this landmark open source biotech research social network platform model. Such a breakthrough will turn the biotech world into an open source arena and bring in a flood of innovation and advancement in the industry.
